Why do perfumes smell different on different people?

Our individual body chemistry can impact how a perfume smells on our skin, creating a unique and personal scent. Factors such as diet and the hydration level of the skin can also influence the way a perfume smells.

How do I apply perfume?

Perfume is activated by warmth, so it is best applied to pulse points such as wrists, neck, and behind the ears where body heat can help release the fragrance and make it last longer. However, perfume can be applied anywhere on the body, the choice is ultimately up to the wearer's personal preference. Bonus tip is to moisturize the skin before use to increase longevity of the perfumes aroma.

Do you test your products on animals or use any animal derivatives?

We are committed to creating perfumes without using animal testing. We do not test our products on animals, and we only use a few animal-derived ingredients in our perfumes. These ingredients include Beeswax Absolute and Hyraceum Absolute, which are both derived from non-endangered animals. Any musks, ambergris, civet, or castoreum that we use in our perfumes are synthetic equivalents that recreate the scent without using animal-derived materials. This allows us to create high-quality perfumes without harming animals.

What precautions should be taken when using this product?

Always read the label and product information before use. It may cause eye and skin irritation and contain sensitizing substances that can cause an allergic reaction.

How long do our perfumes last?

The longevity of a perfume can vary depending on the formula and the individual wearer's body chemistry. In general, most perfumes will last for around 4-6 hours when applied to pulse points, however all O&S perfumes are made with 100% oil concentration, making them pure perfumes. When applied correctly, pure perfumes can last for up to 24 hours on the skin, and even longer if the skin is hydrated. Perfume can also last longer when sprayed on clothing, especially cotton, for up to three days. An O&S bottle, when used daily, can last for a period of 6 months.

How can I make perfume last as long as possible?

Begin by applying an unscented body lotion or moisturizer to your skin.

After the lotion has been applied, spritz the fragrance onto the suggested pulse points (such as the wrists, neck, or behind the ears).

To help the fragrance last longer, avoid rubbing your wrists together after applying the scent. The heat generated by this action can cause the fragrance to evaporate faster.

What percentage of perfume last as long as possible?

The longevity of a perfume depends on various factors such as the specific fragrance, the concentration of the perfume oil, and how it is applied to the skin. Generally, perfumes with a higher concentration of fragrance oils, like eau de parfums and parfums, will last longer on your skin when compared to eau de toilettes and colognes, which have a lower concentration of fragrance oils. However, at O&S, we use pure 100% oils, so you can expect them to last much longer than perfumes offered by other brands.

What percentage of perfume oil do you use?

To create the best possible perfumes, we use the highest concentration of perfume oil that is suitable for each fragrance. In some cases, this means using the absolute form of the perfume, which is the most concentrated form available. All of our perfumes are made with 100% perfume oil.

Where do you get your ingredients from?

We carefully select our ingredients from around the world and only use those that are of the highest quality and purity. This helps us create perfumes that are rich, complex, and long-lasting.

How should I store my perfume?

To help your perfumes last longer and retain their quality, it is important to store them properly. Keep your perfumes in a cool, dark place away from humidity and direct sunlight, and make sure to keep the caps on the bottles to prevent evaporation. If your perfume comes in a case, you can use it to store and protect the fragrance. Some people also suggest keeping perfumes in the refrigerator during the summer to help them stay fresh, especially if you live in a hot, humid climate.

Why does perfume contain alcohol?

Perfumes contain alcohol as a solvent and to help distribute the fragrance evenly, evaporate it, and keep it stable. It also helps in thinning the fragrance and quick drying on the skin. Our O&S oils contain 0% alcohol as they are pure forms of oil so they can last much longer, however; we also offer other perfumes that contain a certain percent of alcohol.

Does the Absolutes contain alcohol?
